JAPANESE DANCE HAND FANS

Authentic Japanese hand fans have a rich and long heritage within the Japanese culture. Originally used by the Emperor and Empress during enthronement and marriage, Japanese hand fans are now commonplace. They were also used as signaling devices in the military and certainly always held by geisha in their fan dances.

Dancing with fans has become an art form in Japan and many specialty dance fans are weighted to accommodate the dancing movement.

Japanese Style carries a select catalog of weighted  and non-weighted hand fans specifically for dance troupes and are all Made In Japan.
