These Traditional Yukatas and Nemaki from the Japanese word for โ€œbathing clothesโ€ (โ€œyukatabiraโ€), became popular 300 years ago as a soft, comfortable robe for wearing around the bathhouse or home. Made from the softest Japanese cotton, they are perfect for everyday use.

We have a wide selection of yukata and nemaki in colors from the traditional blue to the modern multicolored style, all with beautiful floral and geometric patterns. Nemaki have an inner gauze lining that will keep you cool in the summer and warm in the winter, so you can wear them year-round. These robes are perfect for bed and breakfasts, resorts, spas, or simply the comfort of your own home!

If you live in a cold climate, our double thick flannel yukatas are perfect for you. Extremely soft, they are warmer than the traditional cotton yukatas. Flannel yukatas are perfect for lounging by the fire on a cold winter day or curled up in bed with a warm cup of tea.

Fitting
While they are traditionally one size fits all, our yukatas are listed with measurements to ensure proper fit. Imported from Japan, they are made of 100% Japanese cotton fabric, and each comes with a matching belt. Measure yourself from your shoulder to calf/ankle to obtain your length. Measure the widest part of your body hip, stomach, or chest this will give you your hem to hem size. Allow at least 16 inches or more to cover the front of your body. If you have a wide shoulder, look at the shoulder to shoulder size. The shoulder does not have to rest exactly on the shoulder. If you have short arms or narrow shoulder, look at the sleeve to sleeve size.

Yukatas can be worn by women or men. The menโ€™s Yukata will have straight sleeve with no holes under the arm. A lot of women enjoy this style of Yukata, therefore we brought in smaller sizes for women.

The womenโ€™s Yukata will have the butterfly sleeve with the hole under the arm. The length can be longer if you are wearing your womenโ€™s Yukata to a festival because you will pull the excess under your obi belt to create the Kimono look. If you are wearing your Yukata around the house, then pick the length that is comfortable for you. Always enjoy and remember the longer you own your Yukata the softer it will become!
